[refugee-rights] Learning opportunities on forced migration, displacement, refugees

Dear Colleagues,

HREA offers several courses for those interested in, or working on, (forced) migration, displacement and refugees:

Rights of Refugees and Displaced Persons - This rapid e-course gives an overview of the institutions and mechanisms that serve to protect refugees and internally displaced persons. This self-directed and self-paced course takes about 3 to 6 hours to complete and combines text with rich multimedia, including videos and podcasts. Knowledge checks and quizzes engage the learner and reinforce the knowledge learned. Upon successful completion learners are issued a certificate.

International Refugee Law and Contemporary Challenges (22 February-3 April 2012) - This short certificate course offered by HREA and the Human Rights Center of the University for Peace introduces participants to the international system for refugee protection, from the historical, legal, theoretical and practical perspectives. Issues concerning international protection of refugees have undergone a sea change from the time when the 1951 Refugee Convention came into force.

Les droits des réfugiés et des personnes déplacées - Ce cours rapide offre une vue d’ensemble des institutions et des procédures légales qui servent à protéger les réfugiés et les personnes déplacées internes. Le cours combine du texte avec du multimédia riche et comporte des vidéos et des podcasts (balado-diffusions). Des tests de connaissances et des quiz éveillent l’engagement de l’apprenant et renforcent le savoir acquis pendant le cours.
